When a Romeo flag is located on the control ship it means "I am steady on course and speed and am prepared to receive you". The notes of Bleib Modern flow around like a ship in a calm night, while the universe tries to create his own sound. And they are ready to receive like antennas those notes.
Eventually, this sound turns to be the soundtrack of a dying universe where everything turned black and white. Where all the hopes are almost gone but there are still sensual and dashing vibes.
Once a solo project founded by Philipp, Bleib Modern can be considered one of the best Coldwave/Post-Punk bands in the European scene. Five members put their sensitivity and their hearts on this project, creating the perfect disposition on the stage: electric instruments meet guitars, bass and smoothing drum beats. Meanwhile, an elegiac and graceful voice try to sooth these melancholic feelings.
Philipps lyrics are the hues of several human emotions and the shoegaze influence rewards with power their big design. Descending this trip of reverb, delay effects and elegant waves we reach a foggy english atmosphere full of 80's influences.
As their name evokes (Bleib Modern means - stay modern" in German) they create a new contemporary and powerful project while casting a glance over the past. The last album - Vale of Tears" is the gloomy follow-up of the romantic - All is fair in love and war". They increased significantly the sound with more effects and synths, the strong bass line joins the bright guitars and the mesmerizing drum, creating thicker, fuller and darker songs adorned by a deep melancholic voice.
